The Challenge
Sustainability has been central to operations at Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford since the launch of their pioneering on-site Aquaponics Farm in 2019. Opened by Dr Amy Khor, the farm generated widespread media coverage and positioned the hotels as early leaders in sustainable hospitality. Five years on, with no major new announcements, the challenge was to keep the momentum going and ensure sustainability remained relevant and visible in the public eye.
In 2024, we placed sustainability at the heart of our communications strategy for Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford. By integrating the Aquaponics Farm and broader sustainability efforts into multiple campaigns, we captured the attention of visiting international media, resulting in prominent coverage in leading global titles. Sustainability became a consistent narrative thread. From menu launches at Prego and festive dining campaigns to the Mireia Vanilla partnership and our collaboration with Treatsure to reduce food waste, each initiative reinforced the hotels’ long-term commitment to responsible hospitality.
